The Downey Shake Shack is a ground-up freestanding restaurant located at one of Southern California’s busiest retail intersections. Tanco delivered the 2,950 SF structure and accompanying outdoor dining terrace, managing all civil site work, utilities, MEP, commercial kitchen, and interior finishes to Shake Shack’s national brand standards.
The site’s high traffic volume and proximity to major retail anchors required a construction management approach that minimized public disruption throughout the build. Tanco coordinated closely with the city and surrounding tenants, and delivered the restaurant within the brand’s targeted construction duration — contributing to a successful grand opening event.
